Thursday Thirteen: My Job

my used-to-be-empty-now-it-looks-different desk at the office

Currently, I'm working as a web content editor for http://astro-oasis.com/en/. What must I do? And, what makes me love this job?

Here are the answers:
  1. I have to update the website at least four to five times a week.
  2. I write articles on various Astro Oasis programs.
  3. I have the chance to watch various excellent documentaries--because I have to write about them.
  4. I prepare live chat events with various Indonesian prominent people.
  5. I also have to do some reporting jobs should there be any interesting external or internal events.
  6. I have to submit program schedules once a month--and that takes me about 2 whole days to complete.
  7. I also have to submit daily praying time.
  8. I prepare monthly report on visitors and hits.
  9. I manage the whole content.
  10. I have to connect with the website provider--which is quite challenging!
  11. I love this job because it suits my passion (writing and web content editing)
  12. It relates to my belief, so I tend to become more religious.
  13. It broadens my knowledge.

Thursday 13 - Back to Work

I'm back! And, I'd like to share my experiences on going back to work...

  1. I drink more water, not tea, not coffee, because everyday, on my desk, there is a huge glass of water, well served.
  2. I know that actually mu hubby does worry about me. He calls everyday to check out when I'll be back at home. The working hours end at 06.30 PM and it's ark already at 06.00, with the traffic jam, I'd reach home only at 07.00 (or 5-10 to 7), it varies.
  3. My babyhana misses me so much. Once, she walked on her sleep, calling my name...I feel like crying when hubby told me this.
  4. I can bring lunch to office. Thank God! That way, I don't have to spend 10% of my salary only for lunch and spend it on other more important things--like going out with my daughter.
  5. Once, I wore a baby-doll kinda blouse and a nice lady on the bus offered me her seat because she thought I was pregnant. Oh, Ma'am, I'm chubby, that's all, not pregnant. But, thanks anyway for your kindness. And, of course, I didn't take the seat.
  6. On the second day, I joined my colleagues to visit another colleagues who has just given birth to a lovely baby. Oh...every time I see babies, I feel like having one...
  7. On the second day, I got totally wet. It was heavily raining and I had to go home anyway.
  8. I eat more for dinner. Normally, I don't. But, since I worked, I ate A LOT! Yeah, forget the diet!
  9. The people in the office are nice. I love nice people!
  10. Yesterday, there was a party at the office. It was cool! We even got goody bags. I gave it to my daughter and she was so happy about it.
  11. I put my daughter's pic on the desktop. And, that makes me miss her even more!
  12. I haven't got a phone line. Well, my job doesn't require me to make lots of phone calls, so, be it.
  13. I pray everyday that things will be just fine. Would you pray for me too? :D Thanks!

TT - 13 Random Things about Me Today

  1. I'm being vulnerable since last night, I hope things do get better.
  2. My mother's maid had to go back home to her kampung because her mother is ill.
  3. Due to #2, I have to do everything by myself--normally she can help me doing little things like doing the laundry and ironing--how I hate ironing!
  4. My daughter and I made a promise to "be good" while the maid is away. Hope this really works!
  5. I've just looked for a kindergarten for my daughter and got shocked while seeing the tuition and fees!
  6. I need some more sleep!
  7. Two days ago, I talked on the phone with Liza, my dear blogging friend from Malaysia who came to Jakarta for some business. I wish I could meet her.
  8. I need to buy a monitor. Previously, I borrowed my cousin's but now he has to use it.
  9. I get stressed easily and I hate myself for that!
  10. I'm glad that I have Nonie as my best friend. She has always been there for me. We can cry together then laugh together. That sounds crazy but it helps me save my sanity.
  11. I don't know what to prepare for today's breakfast *It's 08.20 in my country*
  12. I am on a diet.
  13. According to my friend, #9 is the result of #12...is it true?!

Thursday Thirteen - Being a WAHM

13 Things I've Learned from Being a WAHM

About Myself

  • 1. I need a maid, or at least a nanny to play with Hana whenever I need to work.
  • 2. I tend to eat a lot; these 3 months, I've gained 6,5 lbs!!!
  • 3. I become too attached with my computer.
  • 4. I'd prefer working--in my case it's writing or blogging--than cooking.

--------------

About Me and Hubby

  • 5. We work in separate PCs now--he also works at home, and we don't miss each other that much anymore.
  • 6. We chat! Yeah, we use YM to send kisses and some funny talks or links...in a way, it's romantic, and it's also fun because it's like there is a space between us.
  • 7. We become more like friends than husband and wife.

--------------

About Hana

  • 8. She's smarter than I thought.
  • 9. Seeing her growing up each day amazes me a lot. She is tall!
  • 10. We can talk. I thought she would never listened, but she did. If she's feeling upset, I let her cry for awhile, then after that we talk about it and I love it.
  • 11. She is good in negotiating. She knows what to say or offer to get what she wants.
  • 12. I might homeschool yet only in English, not in other subjects. She understands some English words and phrases now--English is not the language used in my country, Indonesia.
  • 13. She has a great imagination. Whenever someone asks her if she wants to have a younger sibling or not, she says, "I already have one, his name is Kemal and he lives in the UK, now." So, who's cheating, me or hubby...in the UK?! Sounds like fun! ;D

TT - 13 Romantic Wishes

My hubby is not a romantic person. Yet, I never stop wishing for a romantic session with him...

  1. A second honeymoon in the same place that we went to for our first honeymoon. It's Kampung Sampireun in Garut, West Java.
  2. A candle light dinner in a fancy restaurant where he secretly orders a band to accompany me sing my favorite songs.
  3. Fill our bedroom with flowers.
  4. Tell me to get out of the house for two or more hours, and when I got home, he already prepares the table and the food--his own cooking if possible, if eatable, if not, some delicious meals from some resto would do me good.
  5. Sing a song for me right after I wake up...I prefer "You Make My World So Colorful" by Daniel Sahuleka--because from what I heard, he wrote the song after seeing his wife waking up and looking so pretty in one morning.
  6. Write a song for me--he used to be able to write songs, I wish he would write another one for me...
  7. Sending me a poem by airmail.
  8. Surprise me of an unthinkable thing--I can't think of it now.
  9. Surprise me with a voucher from a bookstore--unlimited one! Ha!
  10. Close my eyes and bring me to a shopping center and let me smell some perfumes and let me choose one or two (or three) just by smelling them and shop a dress for me that he only allows me to wear with him--no need to be a sexy one, just something pretty for me to wear.
  11. Fly me to a beautiful place where he makes sure that I would not be able to think of anything else--works, deadlines--but romance.
  12. A romantic video tape where he says everything nice about me and beautiful things about us.
  13. Read this post! Ha!

TT - My Silly Stories

Enjoy...and continue the story if you wish...

  1. I'm in a forest, it's dark. I want to run but my feet are too heavy. Then, I walk slowly...step by step...and, suddenly...
  2. I am swimming in a lake. The water is warm. I see some swans on the other side. I swim and swim until I get closer to them. But then, all of a sudden, they disappear...and...
  3. I see him there, with his black trousers and light blue skirt. He can't see me. But, I know, he can feel me. There are tears on his cheeks. His eyes are red. I wish I could come closer, then hug him...but I can't. He is...
  4. I am climbing this tiny hill with my sister. She looks happy. That big smile never leaves her face. I wish I could just a little bit be like her. She knows I envy her, but she is ok with that. Well, I'm not...because...
  5. Now, I am on the stage. All eyes are on me. I feel my hands trembling. I can't do it! Don't push me! I can't sing. I can't dance! I'm no Diva! No...!
  6. I am trapped. I can't move. People are yelling, telling me to be calm and leave it to them to help me. But, can they really save my life? I don't think so. I can't trust my life in other people's hands. I have to find a way to set my body free...
  7. Today, it's our 25th anniversary. I have reserved a table in our favorite restaurant. I know he would love it. It's now 30 minutes to 8, but he hasn't come home yet. 30 minutes to 9, I have to cancel the recervation. 30 minutes to 10...I wonder where he is...
  8. We've just moved in to this new house. A bigger place with a beautiful rose garden on the backyard. Yet, there is something wrong. I just can feel it.
  9. He killed himself. With a gun. His father's. Blood is everywhere near him, on him. And, we were supposed to be on the church now. He could kiss me, his new wife. But, he chose blood instead. Why?
  10. I am faling in love. Everyone can see that in my eyes. Whenever he is around, sparkles are filling my eyes. Jenny, my best friend, said that I was like a tiger looking at fresh meat. Was I?
  11. I am fat, I need to lose at least 20 pounds. But, did I ever do it? No. Never. Did my Dad manage to avoid death after he started living with that silly diet? No. He still had that heart attack. So, why should I do what he did? So, I can end up dead, just like him?
  12. I'm in this fancy restaurant. Alone. Everyone--each with someone on the other side of the table--is looking at me as if I'm a green allien. Can't anyone dine alone?
  13. I'm in front of my computer. I am supposed to join a very famous meme. Yet, I don't know what to write. So, I just sit down and look at the screen. Still don't know what to say...

Thursday 13 - 13 Distractions of My Being a WAHM

  1. Bed. Oh yes, this is my biggest enemy. I work mostly in my bedroom. So, you can imagine how hard it is not to get tempted!
  2. My daughter. Now that I work at home, she wouldn't want to be far from me. She always wants to go wherever I go, wants to do whatever I do. And, she always tries her best to get my attention...and sometimes she tries too much and kinda weirdly...
  3. My husband. Hahaha! I looove his cuddling me. So, since he also works at home, whenever I see him (mostly when there is a bit of problem with work, I ask him to give me a cuddle...and that might take more than just a second ;D).
  4. Baking. I need to bake lots of cookies for Iedul Fitri (holiday after Ramadhan is over), for my mom, my mother in law, myself...
  5. Reading. I'm interested in participating in a teenlit project. Yet, I'm not too familiar with it, so I need to read lots of it...yes, it's a distraction.
  6. A new idea. Yeah...lots of ideas come to my head and it's hard to say no. So, I've just bought a book to write them down and that's kinda time taking.
  7. Internet. I don't have a fixed internet connection yet at home. But my hubby uses his wi-mode connection and that's tempting. *This is not only time-taking but also kinda waste my money for it's expensive and the connection is kinda low*
  8. Being sleepy. I get sleepy easily now.
  9. Oprah Show. Oh yes, I hate to miss this great show...so, sometimes while working, I also watch the show.
  10. My husband's yelling when he fails in his computerized soccer game. Oh I hate it!
  11. Hunger. Yet, in the day time, since it's Ramadhan and I'm fasting, I don't feel it a lot. But, at night, I can get so hungry I crave for anything. Yes, kinda starving (I'm a bit exagerating here).
  12. My daughter's cuteness. Oh yes, she's so cute that I feel like cuddling her again and again.
  13. DVDs. My brother has the same taste of good movies with me. And, he has dozens of great movies. And, it's like those DVDs are pulling me. But, so far, I win. Haven't touched any of them! :D

Thursday 13 - What I Expect of Being a WAHM

This will be a great adventure, being a WAHM...here are what i expect:

  1. I will have all my liberty to sleep very very late (I prefer working at nite) and can wake up anytime I want.
  2. I don't have to dress up.
  3. I can play with my BabyHana anytime I want.
  4. I'll have a chance to learn cooking (yeah, rite...I doubt it myself *grin*).
  5. I can take my BabyHana to school and wait for her there until she's done.
  6. I will have more time to write (who knows, my 2nd book might come soon ;D).
  7. I'll have time to catch up with my friends for lunch or afternoon tea coffee.
  8. I'll have more time to blog.
  9. I can go to bookstores or library more often.
  10. I can sleep longer (I haven't mentioned it, have I? ;D).
  11. I can get online all day long (do you hear me? ALL DAY LONG! Love it!)
  12. I can learn how to nap (honestly, I can'y nap for everytime I wake up after a nap, I'll get dizzy).
  13. I'll have more time to read (there are dozens of books on the shelves left untouched).

All these 13 are the pluses...wondering what would be the minuses...let's see if I can work it out for my next-week TT :D

More TTs here...
