Weekend Is Not The Best Moment to Diet!

Trust me on this one.

Weekend is the worst time to diet. Especially if you spend the night at you MIL's (MIL: Mother in Law, just in case you don't know! ;D).

I spent the night at my lovely MIL's and this lovely lady keept giving me delicious food I couldn't say no to.

She loves me so much that she wants me to simply be happy. And, since she knows I can't say no to everything she puts on the table (since everything she makes is delicious!), she keeps making food again and again.

Just like last weekend. Nice breakfast, wonderful lunch, yummy tea-time snacks, and undeclinable dinner.

Oh, this morning I didn't dare stepping on the scale. I might gain the 1 kg I lost last week.

Oh, MIL, in some ways, I really really love you, but please let me lose some weight.

:D

A Successful Diet? I Think It Is!

1 kg loss, can't it be considered as a succes?

Well, yes, for me. I've been avoiding dinner for the last 4 days. And this morning, I stepped on the scale. Yes, the old and broken one, yet for me, it's still trustable.

It showed that I have lost 1 kg.

Yipppyyyy!

All the midnight hunger is paid off!

Midnight hunger?

Yes, sometimes, I do my novel project late at night. Before, I used to have chocolate or wafer to get rid of the hunger. But since Monday, I declared war against middle night snacks.

:D

I'm happy and I'll keep doing it until I can lose more weight.

My goal?

Ideally it's 10 kg, but I think my hubby likes me a bit chubby, so, 8 kg should be the most.

Hey, I don't do it because he complains or anything. He adores me just the way I am.

I just do it for my self and for my health...and for him, even though he doesn't ask.

I love you, AbiDee, for loving me just the way I am.

I love you the same.

It's a picture of him with our precious 'lil daughter.

Diet Day 2

I consider today Diet Day 2.

So, I assume, I am totally in it.

Today's lunch: rice, 4meatballs, 1 corn omelette, 1 cup of vegetable and tofu.

Healthy? Well...kind of! :D

Yesterday I managed to hold my self back. I didn't have dinner. Instead, I drank WRP coholate milk with cereal. Yummy enough. And, I also had 1/4 mango. Oh, and yes, 3/4 timtam, 1/4 went to my babyhana.

Not bad, isn't it?

I slept at about 11.oo and guess what, I felt hunger covering all sides of my tummy. But...I won! I didn't eat anything at that time!

I win!

I did it!

I think a big piece of chocolate is not that bad as an award for my self. Yeah, it's cool. I'll get it by the end of this week.

I did it!

:D

Look at those chubby cheeks!

Should get rid of them ASAP!

Diet, Will It Work Now?

Since I was a little kid, I had never had the experience to be a skinny human being. Always fatty and chubby.

When I was in Junior High, I got into a strict diet--without my mom and dad knowing it--and I made it. But then, in High School, I started gaining weight for I was so damned stressed out. I went to what happened to be the best school in my country. (Yeah, excuses, excuses, excuses! :p )

In the university I also tried my best to lose weight. Sometimes I managed getting rid of a little fat, some other time, I failed.

Then I remember trying all I could to be slim when I was about to have my wedding. I could lose 2-3 kg.

The last time was about 2 months back. No, I didn't make it. ;-(

My reasons to be a little smaller varied from trying to look better, to make hubby happy, to make my self happy, to get more confidence, because I couldn't wear dresses I made before I got married, because people start noticing that I gain weight bla bla bla...

But these days, I've been adding one more reason: I wanna be healthy.

So, starting today, I'll try my best to look better and be a lot healthier.

My lunch: rice, greenbeans, corn omelete, fried egg, carrot. Healthy? I doubt it! :D

My Very 1st Thursday Thirteen! 13 Unforgettable Memories!

Thirteen Things about THE UNFORGETTABLE MEMORIES IN MY LIFE

  1. When I was about 11 years old, my grandparents, uncle, auntie, cousin, little bro and I went to Jogja in a sedan. Can you imagine 7 people in one sedan? It was fun and wonderful
  2. My best friend, Risma and I, we made a magazine and we sold it to our friends in the elementary school. Glad to have her as a friend!
  3. In junior high, I could manage losing weight and I didn't look fat at that time...well, I know, I shouldn't have done it at that age, but I couldn't handle baing called fat sometimes...
  4. I sent a short story to a teen magazine and they rejected it. I was so sad that I stopped writing. That was the silliest thing I did!
  5. I had a fight with my other best friend, Andini. It was the most sad moment during our friendship. We're still best friends up 'til now though. Love you, Din!
  6. I got a crush on a senior in high school. I was sooooo shy. He didn't know me at all. Even until he graduated.
  7. I liked languages so much and I wanted to go to the Faculty of Literature in the best university in my country. And I did. My Dad was so proud that he helped me arrange all the things I needed on the registration day. I had never been so closed to him before.
  8. Some friends and I created a drama group using French. I played a role there and it was great to have one of your dreams came true!
  9. I finally graduated and got a job. It seemed like usual normal stuff that can happen to any body. But, it was great since I could help my folks financially. I felt so useful!
  10. I met my hubby on the net! Still remember that he called me right away after we finished chatting. Then we decided to see each other. :D
  11. About 1 month before I got married, I went out just with my mum. It was fun. We had a great time. I even could make mom took a pic with me in the photobox. :D Yeah, mum is old fashioned ;D
  12. I got married and I looked gorgeous! Hahaha...yeah, complimenting my self, I know. But it was beautiful and everyone was having a great time.
  13. The day my baby was born...oh...I never ever felt more blessed before. It was beutiful, she was wonderful. Yet, she had to go to the ICU for few days. Thank God, she was just fine. It's great to have her in my life... :D

Earthquake - Jakarta

Yesterday, I was in the toilet when it happened. I stilted, trying to feel if it was me feeling dizzy or the earth was somehow shaken.

It wasn't me feeling dizzy!

I grabbed my clothes and ran out of the toilet, looking for my daughter, screaming, "Earthquake!" to my mom, brother and hubby.

I took my DD outside the house. While Japanese prefers hiding under a table, I prefered running outside for I didn't find any table that might be safe enough for me and my DD.

After standing outside the house for several minutes, finally I decided to get in 'cause I was reassured by hubby and mom that it was ok. No more quake.

20 minutes later, we saw on Metro TV that a magnitude 6.2 earthquake occured at 17.55 for at least 30 seconds. And, it wasn't far from where we lived, only 190 kilometers southwest of Jakarta.

Afterwards, my hubby and I decided to stay awake, first him, then me then him again. So, just in case something happened, we could act as quick as possible.

Overreacted? I don't think so.

Well, may be yes, a bit. How couldn't I be? I have a daughter that I have to protect. I can't lose her and she can't lose me. I know, destiny is in God's hands, but we need to do all we can to protect ourselves, don't we?

So, last night, I woke up at 00.00 until 05.00. Thank God there were 2 good movies I could watch on TV. "Eloise at Christmas" and "You Stupid Man". I like both. I enjoyed watching them. Thanks to these movies, I kept my eyes wide opened all night. :D

During the commercials, I did pray, of course.

Hope the whole city, or even the whole country, all pray together for our safety.

Hope the whole world would do, too.

My Baby Can Create New Songs

Since the last 1 month, my BabyHana's been refusing to sleep early. She sleeps between 10-12 pm. Yeah, I know that way tooooooooo late!

But, it's not that I can't discipline her, but I don't want to. ;D

I enjoy spending time with her in the bed. We chat about many things. I ask her what she's been doing in the afternoon while I'm at the office. She tells me stories or make up some. It's beautiful.

Last night, her Abi (read: father)--returning from work--joined us. Suddenly Hana sang a song, not children song. Using words like I love you, worry about you, you know adult stuff. Normally I tell her not to sing such songs for she knows many children songs actually. But last night was different.

She really made me and her Abi laughed. Not only singing the songs, but she also created new ones with her own tones and words. Soooo funny!

I looked at them both, my hubby and DD, I thought, I wouldn't know what to do should they never came into my life.

Then I remembered mothers who lost children and wives who lost husbands on Tsunami. I felt like crying. I prayed for them.

And now, I thank God for giving me beautiful moments with my family and hope we'll all be safe so I can listen to my DD singing her made-up songs.

Another Tsunami in Indonesia

At about 4 O'clock, my boss told me that there was an earthquake here at 03.30. I felt something but since my office is not located in a tall building, I thought it was just me feeling dizzy.

Then, just now, I've read that there's another tsunami in Java Island, as reported in ABC News.

I'm really scared though the location is far from where I am now. Hope it won't be as bad as the Aceh one.

Just me and Hana

Last weekend my maid asked for permission to bring her mom back to kampung. I couldn't say no because that will be too rude. So, I said yes. Well, actually despite of the possibility that I will be extremely exhausted from taking care of Hana by my self with a little help from my hubby, I can't wait to be just with my baby. Just me and her. That would be great.

Before, whenever I help her bath or eat, she always did something to get my attention (read: to make me angry). I was afraid that it would happen the whole weekend. But it didn't always happen. Just once or twice. The rest, no problem with eating and bathing.

But...Hana is becoming totally active! Hana and I went to Pasaraya Blok M--with 2 cousins from S'pore, without my hubby--, a shopping centre in South Jakarta, and she ran and ran and ran. And me? Of course, I had to run after her. Usually, I get helps either from my maid or my husband. But, last weekend I was all by my self. My lil' brother who also went with us, had to accompany the cousins.

Well, it was tiring, yet it was fun. Just me and her. I hope, despite of all the troubles of running here and there, I can just be with my baby everyday, without having to leave her for work. I hope, one day, it'll be possible.

Now, I'm at the office, and I miss her so dearly!

What Color Green Are You?

Following my dear friend, Sefa...

I'm Emerald Green

You Are Emerald Green

Deep and mysterious, it often seems like no one truly gets you.
Inside, you are very emotional and moody - though you don't let it show.
People usually have a strong reaction to you... profound love or deep hate.
But you can even get those who hate you to come around. There's something naturally harmonious about you.

[Fave Quote] Leo Nikolaevich Tolstoy

Let us forgive each other - only then will we live in peace

Who is Leo Nikolaevich Tolstoy?

Sometimes, forgiving or asking for forgiveness is hard to do. But, it's not impossible. You can do it now, you can do it later. It doesn't matter. What matters is that you end up doing it anyway.

I once was not a person that can easily do any of the two things I mentioned above. But then, life teaches me many things that really open my eyes.

Anger leads you no where. Anger is a prison you create for yourself. The way to get the freedom is by letting it go. By forgiving or asking for forginess.

Love & Peace

My Desk

That's where I spend 1/3 of my day, Monday-Friday, my messy desk. Just a small table with a nice flat screen, hana's pic, a birthday calendar--so I won't forget my pal's birthday, a small green glass, some books, 1 headphone, a pair of speakers, a little note book where I note everything assigned to me by the boss in the usual Monday Meeting.

Do I like it here?

Yes, I do. I also spend my day there writing and writing, and browsing. It's fun to be able to get connected to the net 8 hours a day.

You see the speaker, there? It's connected to my black-cheap-bought-in-Carrefour headphone. I listen to my fave songs, Jack Johnson's, King Crimson's, Cranberries', jazzy ones, etc.

I got some offers lately. They asked me to work as secretary or administrative staff again. Well, nice offer they got. But, I think my era of doing those details kind of stuff is over.

Now, I prefer writing as my only job description. A little research won't bite. But, nothing else but that, please. Really appreciate the offer but, sorry, I'm trying to lead my life into something I'd like to be.

Hope I make the best decision, now.

So far, I think, I do.
