"SmackDown" TV show under fire in Indonesia

YOu know at one point there were so many incidents going on over here that were very similar. Down to a sibling killing his sister/brother I can't recall exactly, when he imitated some of the moves. It's horrible. We don't watch that nonsense in this house.

We do have the ability to block the channel for when the kids get older and learn to operate the remote.

But I have to say part of the responsibility lies with the parents. I will not allow my children to watch these type of shows, atleast up to a certain age. Many of them don't know that these things can be fatal. We as parents do need to explain these things to them to help prevent these things from happening.

I doubt very much that these occurences have completely disappeared. We just may not be hearing about them anymore.

It's just so sad.

Some parents are aware of the danger of letting kids watch such a show but not all.

The variety of the show's watchers in my ountry is so large. As well as their parents' educational background. This worsens the condition.

I joined a petition to ask the TV station to stop the show. I believe, for the time being, it's the best thing done.

Something similar happened in the US about 7-8 years ago. A 12 yr old boy killed his younger female cousin or sister (sorry can't recall exact details)when he did a WWF style wrestling move on her. It doesn't matter if it's fake...kids cannot make that distinction and think because nobody dies on TV that it can't hurt in real life. Parents should know better but it's very, very common here for parents to watch that stuff WITH their very young children. It makes no sense to me but then again, nobody ever said you had to be intelligent to breed...
