How I Want My Days in Paris to Be!

Previously, I have told you about my desire to go to France. Not, I will focus on Paris, its capital.

I have some friends living there. I bet they want me to stay at their place, even for just one night. But, that's what I want. I'd rather not stay in the hotels--which have almost the same feeling everywhere, don't you think?--and would prefer to look for a Paris bed and breakfast instead.

I'd rather live it. No, I don't think I want to be one of the tourists. I want to feel the life, the beautiful life in the wonderful city. And, that will do only in the B&B Paris. I'd also be able to practice my French. I've been speaking the language since I was 18--now I'm 30 and no, I'm not ashamed of that number, yet--ad I'd love to just speak and speak that lovely language all my trip. And, don't forget, la cuisine! I'll be indulging my tongue with some French delicious meals.

What a lovely imagination! Wish it to happen anytime soon.

Laptop

Last night, finally my hubby brought the laptop. It's a second hand one. Toshiba Satellite. Pentium 3. Silver and dark blue. I like it.

But...just like other old laptops, it has a problem with the battery. My hubby is fixing it now.

I can't afford the new one so I think I just have to be happy with this one.

Guess, what, just now, less than 1 minute ago, my hubby told me that the sound didn't come out. It did last night.

Well, hopefully my hubby can fix it. Thank God I'm married to a man whose first wife is his computer. Yup, I consider myself as his second wife...

Let's Visit France!

Have you ever been to France? If you have, consider yourself lucky!

Because, I haven't. Been speaking the language for more than ten years now, but I haven't seen the beauty of the romantic country other than in pictures.

Yet, I still have this desire to go there. I bet you do, too.

Other than the air ticket, there is one important thing you should deeply consider for a France travel: the accommodations.

What kind of accommodations would you need when you travel to France?

There are lots of interesting types of France accommodations. If I were you, I would rather choose boutique hotels, spa hotels, or maison d'hotel for a magical trip!

What about you?

Bye bye Laptop!

I saw the laptop just now. And...I don't think I would take it. It made a weird sound whenever it gets opened or closed. It was dirty. And, there is a bit of chunk on the corner. And, the DVD drive couldn't be detected. Yeah...I did laugh at myself for wishing that it would be something I've been dreaming about.

So, I think I'll wait 'til I get another chance to have my own laptop :D

Jewelry for Me

I'm not the kind of woman who gets crazy over jewelry. I mean, any jewelry. I would fall deeply in love with certain types of jewelry. Only those which are simple, elegant and fit me.

I have several of them. Yet, I only keep some that have certain memories. For example, my engagement and wedding rings (I would be crazy to let them go--yet there are some who have no choice but letting them go for several reasons), bracelets given by my Granpa, Grandma and Mother in law, some other rings from my Great Grandma, Grandma and Mom.

What about the rest? To be honest, I had to let them go. I didn't use them much. But, they become very usefel whenever I need some extra cash.

Like the day after tomorrow, there is a chance I might need to go to the pawnshop. I plan to buy a laptop tomorrow. But, I don't have enough money. So, I borrow some of my husband's capital--he's doing some computer business, hardware to be exact. And my hubby has to close a deal the day after tomorrow and he needs the money.

Actually, I might get some payments from my translation projects some time in early December but I don't think I can wait that long. Besides, the laptop I might be buying tomorrow is quite inexpensive--I'll be buying a second one, but the seller said that it was in a very good condition.

Back to the pawnshop. I will have to let go some of the memorable jewelries I mentioned earlier, at least only for a certain time. Soon after I get the payment, I will get them back. I don't think I can lose them. They're much too meaningful for me.

I still have some desires over some jewelry. I think it woould be a ring (I looove rings better than any other jewelries) with a small diamond over a very simple and elegant design of white gold or platinum (I prefer them than the yellow one). Hopefully, one day, I will afford one. Something I can bequeath my daughter.

Jewelry, for me, it's more like a beautiful memory instead of the symbol of wealth.

4 Things I've been Dying to Do

  1. Finish my translation and editing.
  2. Watch "Under the Tuscan Sun" (I have the book yet haven't had the time to read it. And last week, I saw the VCD being sold at only Rp. 12.500,- (US$ 1.3), so...would it be unwide if I didn't buy it?).
  3. Read some of Chitra Banerjee Divakaruni's books that I have bought (short stories and novels).
  4. Write some fictions or finish some stories I have started.

Happiness in Life

Lately, life hasn't been easy for me. Happiness doesn't just lie there for me to grab. I have to try all I might to get it. I have to create happiness for me and my family.

No, it doesn't have to do anything with money. As we all know, money can't buy happiness--although a friend of mine said that it can make our life easier.

And, no, it has nothing to do with my decision being a WAHM. I love it. I'm closer to my daughter.

There's just something bothering me and I'm sick of it. But, there is nothing I can do about it.

So, instead of just waiting 'til it comes, I decide to create my own happiness. Let's just hope I can make it.

What about you?

A Site Where You Can Find The Ring of Love

Who wouldn't want a diamond? I bet all women in the universe will melt soon as they are proposed with such a beautiful diamond ring. I did. As we all know, diamonds are all girls' best friend.

Yet, most men find it difficult to decide which ring would make the best engagement ring ever. They are worried...what if she hates the ring I choose for her? Oh well, those men should have checked MySolitaire.com out.

It seems to be the best place for a man to find the most ideal diamond rings. In that site, you can find any type of rings you need. And, you can do it quite easily. Right after you open it, you will be seeing beautiful samples of rings.

No man will get lost in it since everything is exposed very clearly. You can simply choose the collections they have or you can have the liberty to design your own ring. Not only that, you will get all the help you need, should you have no idea how to choose a good diamond.

For men who are planning to give their beloved wife any type jewelry at all for their anniversary, this is also the right place.

MySolitaire.com has a huge collections of jewelry. You can find not only diamond rings, but also diamond pendants, earrings, bands and bracelets.

For all women who prefer other types of stones, such as black diamonds or sapphire, this site is heaven. Get your sapphire rings in all colors and design. As well as some beautiful black diamond rings.

But, why buying there while you can buy diamonds in some stores you normally visit? I know that that question would pop into your mind. Well, there are plenty of reasons.

As you can see on the right sidebar, they state some very strong reasons: you will get free shipping, authenticity certificate, free gift packaging (the best thing ever if you plan it to be a surprising gift), lifetime buy back, lifetime trade-up, 30 days return, and of course, huge savings--very huge!

And, there is something else. You can browse all their collections without having to ask some rude storekeepers to take them for you. You get better chance to choose, and of course, much longer time.

As I mentioned earlier, the site gives you a complete service. They let you choose your own way to search for the jewelry you need. They let you surf based on the materials, their collections, or items. Or, better, you can only buy loose gemstones!

But, what I love most about shopping in such site is the lack of glance from a rude storekeeper who wonders whether I have enough money to buy any of her store's collections or not.

Being a WAHM or Freelancer Is Not Easy

I have a friend who has been working at home as a freelancer for quite some time. She once complained that nobody understood the essence of WORKING at home.

It's not like you simply sit down nicely at home and do nothing. NO. Not like that at all!

Just like other worker, you have jobs to do.

But, what people seem to see is only the fact that she doesn't go anywhere--and they make a conclusion: she must have nothing to do.

When she told me how annoyed she was with those people's thought, I was like...'ooh?'

But now, I completely understand.

I might be at home, but I also have jobs to do--in between my errands and taking care of my baby Hana (her nanny decided to quit last Tuesday).

So, please...people...understand us more, WAHM. We are making money at home, so, it means, we have jobs to accomplish.

TT - My Silly Stories

Enjoy...and continue the story if you wish...

  1. I'm in a forest, it's dark. I want to run but my feet are too heavy. Then, I walk slowly...step by step...and, suddenly...
  2. I am swimming in a lake. The water is warm. I see some swans on the other side. I swim and swim until I get closer to them. But then, all of a sudden, they disappear...and...
  3. I see him there, with his black trousers and light blue skirt. He can't see me. But, I know, he can feel me. There are tears on his cheeks. His eyes are red. I wish I could come closer, then hug him...but I can't. He is...
  4. I am climbing this tiny hill with my sister. She looks happy. That big smile never leaves her face. I wish I could just a little bit be like her. She knows I envy her, but she is ok with that. Well, I'm not...because...
  5. Now, I am on the stage. All eyes are on me. I feel my hands trembling. I can't do it! Don't push me! I can't sing. I can't dance! I'm no Diva! No...!
  6. I am trapped. I can't move. People are yelling, telling me to be calm and leave it to them to help me. But, can they really save my life? I don't think so. I can't trust my life in other people's hands. I have to find a way to set my body free...
  7. Today, it's our 25th anniversary. I have reserved a table in our favorite restaurant. I know he would love it. It's now 30 minutes to 8, but he hasn't come home yet. 30 minutes to 9, I have to cancel the recervation. 30 minutes to 10...I wonder where he is...
  8. We've just moved in to this new house. A bigger place with a beautiful rose garden on the backyard. Yet, there is something wrong. I just can feel it.
  9. He killed himself. With a gun. His father's. Blood is everywhere near him, on him. And, we were supposed to be on the church now. He could kiss me, his new wife. But, he chose blood instead. Why?
  10. I am faling in love. Everyone can see that in my eyes. Whenever he is around, sparkles are filling my eyes. Jenny, my best friend, said that I was like a tiger looking at fresh meat. Was I?
  11. I am fat, I need to lose at least 20 pounds. But, did I ever do it? No. Never. Did my Dad manage to avoid death after he started living with that silly diet? No. He still had that heart attack. So, why should I do what he did? So, I can end up dead, just like him?
  12. I'm in this fancy restaurant. Alone. Everyone--each with someone on the other side of the table--is looking at me as if I'm a green allien. Can't anyone dine alone?
  13. I'm in front of my computer. I am supposed to join a very famous meme. Yet, I don't know what to write. So, I just sit down and look at the screen. Still don't know what to say...

Until You Lose It...

You take something or someone for granted, then...suddenly he/she/it is gone. There will be nothing in your heart but regrets.

Been there, done that.

And that hurt a lot.

That is why lately I've been trying to try not to take anything for granted. Sometimes it is hard because you really don't know that you care for it until it is totally taken away from you. Yes, that is the hardest part.

The best thing is to be thankful for everything you have by taking good care of it. So, when you have to lose it, you won't feel that much of hurt.

Why PPP?

I should say, why not?!

I joined PayPerPost it's been such a long time. I've got $43 out of it.

How's the story?

My first sign up

I found PPP on some of my dear blogging pals. I found it very interesting. You blog and you get money. That was new for me but I wouldn't want to be left behind, so, I signed up. And, it turned out to be very easy. It’s not complicated so anyone can do it.

Fell in love with PPP

Oh, yes, I did fall in love with it. How couldn’t I? I got $43 already, in no time. I love blogging and I love money. And what they are mixed up together, they are beyond great!

How will I be spending the money?

Well, if you’ve been reading my posts lately, it’s all about building my own nest. I need to have a home of my own. So, I guess the money will go to some rented house, or a house I might just buy.

---

I’m so thankful that someone came up with this brilliant idea to connect Advertisers and Bloggers so they can work together. And, everyone is happy. Advertisers can get their products promoted and Bloggers can get some extra money. Lots of extra money.

Who wouldn't want to get paid to blog?

13 Short and Long Term Plans for Me and My Family

Things have been changed lately. I’ve figured out some interesting facts about my life and my family’s. So, I think some plans are required.

1. Get myself my own desk. This has been done. I’ve got my own desk. Not the big one I brought from my ex-office, but the one my hubby just bought and assembled yesterday. It’s smaller and fits my room well. I put it in front of the window—will show you the picture later on.

2. Get an Internet connection. Today was the big day. The technician came today and fixed it. God, it’s good to be back!

3. Move out. It’s about time. We have been asking for information to our friends about some rented house. We don’t know yet when to move out but it’s planned!

4. Sell stuff. It’s for sure that if we move out, the new home will be very tiny. So, we decided to sell our stuffs that are big and replace them with some simple and petite things.

5. Get another translating job. The one I am doing is about to get done. So, hopefully by midst of this month, I’ve got a new task.

6. Make more money to get settled. To be honest, it’s a bit up and down lately when it comes to money. But, hey, money is not the thing that can make you happy, right? So, yes, thank God we’re happy, still.

7. Write more. In a way, it is related to # 6 but in other way, it is not. I need to write for my own good, my own happiness.

8. Run a business. I know what kind of business that suits me and it’s about to be started, soon, I hope!

9. Lose weight! Oh, well, being a , I don’t have to walk around 1600 steps each day to work—yes, I counted, one way is 800 steps—, and I have to eat those yummy foods my Mom makes. Oh yes, they’re yummy!

10. Help my parents more. No, they never ask for me to lend a hand, I just feel I need to. Since I was born, they were there for me, it’s time for me to be there for them.

11. Have my 2nd book published. God, help me so next year there will be another book…

12. Prepare for my daughter’s further education. It’s both the fund and the institution. My hubby and I need to look for the right school. So far, we’re still hoping that we won’t have to send her to some public schools and we have enough money to send her to just some middle-class private school yet with great curriculums and teaching methods. I wish I could homeschool her, but I don’t think I have the patience and quality.

13. Move out…oh, I’ve said that already?
