Thursday 13 - 13 Things that Make Me Suffer from Insomnia

  1. A good book! - Whenever I start reading an great book, it would be hard for me to turn it down. I'll keep reading and reading until I couldn't stand being sleepy.

  2. A big idea! - If I have something in mind, a big big idea in my head, then it would be hard for me to close my eyes. I will keep them open and let my imagination go as wild as it can be.

  3. Sadness - If I'm sad about something, I might cry almost all night long. I'm the kind of person who believes that crying will lessen sadness up to 20%.

  4. Missing someone - If I miss any family members who passed away like my GrandMa, GrandPa or Uncle, it would be difficult for me to sleep. I'd remember all the memories I had with them.

  5. An argument with a lover - My hubby and I almost never fought, even when I was being my hubby's girl friend. I don't like conflicts. But there were times when we were of the same mind. Those made my eyes opened 'til at least 01 am.

  6. A mistake while doing my tasks at the office - This rarely happens but when it does, even if I've corrected it would make me awake longer than I should.

  7. Falling in love - Hahhaa...this must happen to all girls, right? When I first fell in love with Abi, I kept thinking about him, kept smiling, kept singing love songs...well, you know...those silly girly things.

  8. Exams - There were times when I didn't sleep AT ALL for 2 days because I had 3 exams in each day. And know, what, I almost missed one important exam just because of concentrating to sudy for the next exams and feeling sleepy. Thank God, my friend who did finish the exam found me under a tree not far from the class where he took the exam and told me to rush to the class. It was already half an hour to the end of the exam, but, thankfully, the lecturer let me take it. And, I managed to get a C+.

  9. Being Hungry - I tried dieting soooooooooomany times. But I almost always failed because of being hungry in the middle of the night which ended me up into craving foods.

  10. My babyHana's insomnia - Well, her insomnia ends me up to an insomnia. When she was less than 2 years old, at 08 pm, she would ask me to accompany her in bed. But after being 2 years old, the earliest time she closed her eyes was at 09 pm and that was simply because she didn't take a nap during the afternoon (yes, she is napping everyday).

  11. Heavily raining and thunderstorms - Both my daughter and I can't sleep if we hear thunderstorms...yeah, we're such cowards...

  12. An interview the next morning - Yup! That's the time when I must sleep but I'd do the contrary. Sometimes because I try to memorize the things I'm supposed to say to the interviewer or if I get scared to fail.

  13. A wedding day the next morning, MY WEDDING DAY! - Don't you all? I did! I slept at 03 am the night before the wedding and I had to wake up at 05 am to get a shower because the lady who did the make up and hair style would come at 05.30 am to start her job which had to finish at least at 08.30 because the ceremony had to start at 08.45. Thank God everything was on time but consequentially, I slept when the lady did her great job on my face and hair. Thanks, Tante Reta!

Self-Publishing? I Think I Will Try...

I have sent one of my writings (a novel) to a publisher but they gave no response after 7 months, so I took it back.

And, now...the idea to try self-publishing really gets into my mind.

Thank God, my boss has several books that can help me learn more how to publish my own book(s). I've asked his permission to borrow them.

Here are his collections:
I know, I was supposed to put the pic of those books, it would be a better post. But, I really don't have the time and energy to save them in the server then re-uploaded or sumthin' like that.

My babyHana came with me to the office this morning since up 'til now, we can't find a nanny or maid to take care of her at home while I work (the one who promised to come will show up only this Friday) and my Mom had to attend a funeral of a relative whose husband happens to be my Dad's best friend.

Usually, one of them would stay at home to babysit my Hana. But the two of them had to attend the funeral.

I was supposed to come, too. But, bringing Hana would be a disaster.

BTW, please let me know if you have tried self-publishing, OK? Thanks a bunch!

Health Is a Must...Beauty, too...

That's what I've been keeping in mind. Without health, things would be difficult. I can't take care of my daughter, my hubby, my family. And worse, I can't perform well in the office.

Whenever I don't feel well, I take some vitamins or supplements to keep me fit. I can't be sick. Plus, being unhealthy sometimes makes me look uglier...hahaha!

So, don't you all do the same thing? Grab all the vitamins and supplements whenever needed?

I believe you do.

So, if you think you need herbs, vitamins or supplements, try N101 Nutrition. Find all the kinds of sources for your health and beauty there.

Have a nice try!

Less than Perfect

Your Life is 65% Perfect

Your life is pretty darn perfect. You don't have much to complain about.
Of course, your life is occasionally less than perfect. But you're usually too happy to notice.

Well...this quiz I found in Shelly's blog might reveal the truth about my life now. It's less than perfect. But complaining would bring me to nothing. Just be thankful that I still can eat 3 times a day and can live in a place called home.

Who've got a perfect life, anyway? I bet none has.

Life is full of problems. You might be rich but you don't always have something that you long for. Things like that.

I have a nice hubby, a cute daughter, a lovely big family. And, I have a great job that I love so much (which might end anytime soon but that doesn't stop me being a writer ;D).

So...there are dozens of things to be thankful about. I might not be celebrating Thanksgiving, but there's nothing wrong about being thankful for my occasionally-less-than-perfect-life. Don't you think?

;D

Your Credit Card Center - Online!

I've been using credit cards since two years ago. At first, I was scared of any of the credit cards offered to me. But then, I was lack of cash and I felt like I had to have back-ups should I had to be hospitalized or things like that.

So, I applied for two cards at the same time. And, both were approved.

Now, I feel like my life is a lot easier with the cards. I can manage when to pay the bills and sometimes, they give great offers.

And let me share you this information on a website where you could compare and apply for Credit Cards, all types of them. Do you know that there are lots of types of credit cards?

Isn't it great? I mean, one site for all!

There, you can get the answers to all your questions regarding credit cards. And, afterwards, you can apply online.

Good luck!

Monday Madness - Holidays

People praying together in an Idul Fitri morning

1. Which of the holidays that you celebrate, do you feel is the most important?
  • It's Idul Fitri, when I can ask for forgiveness from my family of everything I did that hurt them and when I can meet almost all of the big family members and relatives. In Idul Fitri, we also prepare lots of dishes and cookies. That's the time when diet is left far away behind. :D Also, in the morning all moslems would go to the mosque to pray together.
2. Which holiday do you most enjoy?
  • Idul Fitri :D
3. Is there one holiday that your family tries to get together every year? If so, which one?
  • I dul Fitri...
4. Share one special memory from a past holiday.
  • It was Idul Fitri 2 years ago. I have prepared a uniform clothing for me and BabyHana. Unfortunately, she got sick. So, we couldn't enjoy the beautiful outfit. But, she was getting better very soon. Thank God.
5. Name one holiday coming up, that you're really looking forward to, and why.
The above picture is credited to Mr. Hasimsyah Samosir.

Friday's Feast - Have a Great Weekend!

Appetizer
Have you ever changed a flat tire by yourself?

Nope. How can I? I don't even own a car/bike. :D

Soup
Do you have an "innie" or an "outie" belly button?

Innie, and proud of that. ;D

Salad
Name a new paint color and describe it.

So, I kinda have to invent a color or what? I take it that way, inventing a color. The name would be flavory. It's a bit browny, but reddish, but pinky...it reminds you of chocolate and yummy things at the same time. (Why this makes me hungry (again?))...

Main Course
What is your favorite holiday tradition?

For me, it's Lebaran or Idul Fitri, the time when I meet most of my family and relatives. And, everybody are preparing many types of cookies. I love cookies!

Dessert
If you were a cookie, what kind of cookie would you be, and why?

Oh...cookies! It would be chocolate and peanut cookies! Yum yum yum! It's simply because I love cookies and chocolate! ;D

Something to Celebrate?

The boss has just called all the employees one by one. He told us what his plan would be. And each person gets a different plan.

Mine would be continuing to work 'til February but only four days a week. Of course, there will be adjustments to the salary.

Well, for me, that's good! I need that one day off to do some of my plans and to make some of my wishes come true.

Too bad, there are some who have to leave. But, I believe that would be for the best.

God always has a better plan.

My Biggest Wish...

You must all know that I live with my GrandMa, or should I say, live in her house (since she's no longer with us now). I like the house for it has a large front yard.

But, the problem is, the style is an oldie one. Plus, my GrandMa had been sick for 5 years before she passed away, so the house has been lack of beauty touch lately. I wish I knew how to remodel the house...

And then...I found this great site, home makeover. Not only this site gives me tips on how I might remodel the house, but it also gives chances to Win a Home Makeover!

Since I care about you, my dear blog readers, I share this opportunity to get your house renovated. Well, who knows, you might be the lucky one!

Gotta Make a Big Decision (AGAIN)

I've just got a news from my boss that the end of this month would be the last day all of us can work as the shareholders decided to set the company off.

I wasn't surprised. I mean, that's how business goes. On and off.

But what I don't like is that I've gotta be between the lines again. I have to make a decision whether to work from home and write or work for another company.

By being a writer, I can work from home. This I like. But, it might give me trouble for I have no fixed income. On the contrary, by working for another company, I will surely get a fixed income but I might not have the time to finish my writing.

Duh!

And, I'm not a good decision maker!

What did Bush Do in Indonesia?

I watched his interview (along with the Indonesian President) with some Indonesian and foreign journalists. Too bad, I couldn't focus since I did it while preparing dinner for me and hubby.

One thing I still remember, he asked an Indonesian reporter to ask him in Indonesian instead of English 'coz the reporter might embarass the foreign journalists who can't ask in Indonesian.

Well, he was just trying to make himself look funny and cool...I don't know if he succeeded or not.

Let's just hope that his visit really boosts investors confidence...'coz this unrich country (my country) has spent lots of money on building the hellicopter pad which he prefered not to use!

Bush's Visit to Indonesia

What the Indonesians think about it:
What about me? What's my opinion?

Not that I don't care, but I have too much things in my mind. So, there's no space for such thoughts.

Plus, I know that I have no capability whatsoever to stop the government from spending that much money on the visit (who the hell am I anyway?! ;p) . So, now, I think, all I can do is simply hope that the visit will do Indonesia good as mentioned here.

What Season Is It Actually?!

Now, in my country, Indonesia, the season should be rainy. But, on the contrary, it's extremely hot now. The breeze is hot. Everything is hot.

I don't know how people can live without an AC. Normally, during the night, my hubby set the temperature at 24-25°C. But these days, it's been 18°C. And, most of the time, the blanket's not on it's place.

Well, that should be nothing compared to the gardeners who need water for their plants. They might not be able to make money if it goes like this all the time.

A Beautiful Weekend

Well, this weekend is not the best one I've ever had (though I don't remember any of the weekends I've spent that should be the best...daaa!). But, there are stuff that make me happy:

  1. My blog template...it looks like how I want it to be. I like the color, I like the 3-column-design, I like the font. I just don't like how the things on the left bar go all left! But, I'm thankful to be able to design it like that.
  2. Having a 'great' weekend with my daughter. She's still the trouble-2 'lil girl I've been having. But, she acts nice today, and a bit yesterday.
  3. And today...I can be online! Yup, that's great!
Well, there was something that should've been bothering me. It did, a few times. But, I try not to think about it. Que sera sera...

I was thinking about doing a Sunday Meme but none interests me so far.

BTW, the reason why I put that pic above was because it looked so peaceful. It does, doesn't it?

Friday's Feast This Weekend!

This week's questions are all from Ammy

Appetizer
Do you believe there is intelligent life on other planets?

I don't know...

Soup
What is one thing you said you'd never do, but you eventually did?

Clean up my baby's poop...hahaha...I asked my mom to handle it before I had my own child, but after, I did it all by my self...(proudly)

Salad
Who is the teacher that influenced you the most in school?

It's Mr. Engkos, my math teacher in the elementary school. I wasn't good in math but with his help, I managed to get 10 (A+) on my first test in junior high.

Main Course
If you could trade places with anyone for one day, who would it be and why?

Hm...this one is hard. Ok, I'd like to be someone I know who has such a bad attitude and I'll brain wash the brain (his brain which temporarily is mine) and make this person a better person!

Dessert
What is your favorite dish to prepare?

Dish? May I answer it differently...I like making cookies...hahaha, not a dish for sure!

BTW, I 'd like to ask you all a favor...I love the new design of this blog of mine but I don't know why the post and right bar are going down. Could anyone please help?

Thanks so much, would really appreciate it.

*

re-edited:

I managed to fix it. Yes! Thanks to Caylynn and to my other dear friends. Yet, I have another question:

"How to make the things on my leftbar get to the center of the column?"

Recipes of Thai Milk Tea

I simply love tea...as much as milk tea.

I used to love Nai Cha (ceylontea with milk) that I bought in a Chinese Fast-Food Restaurant called Chowking but now it tastes not as yummy as it was. So, I stop buying Nai Cha. I think I still love the Thai Tea I bought in Hanamasa, an all-you-can-eat Japanese Restaurant (I think it's Japanese since the waitresses are wearing kimono).

And, last weekend, I got my self a glass of unyummy Iced Milk Tea from a place (I don't think I can call it a cafe since they focus on selling tea) located at the South of Jakarta that might be ok to hang out at but not ok to sip a yummy milk tea.

So, today, I decided to check out some sites to get any recipes at all on milk tea, but I'm focusing on Thai Tea.

Here are the sites:
So, I think I'll try these recipes this weekend. But...how can I get the Thai Tea? I don't think they sell it here in Indo...uh!

I do normally not..

...talk about my job here.

But now I feel like doing it. A little talk, just something tiny to let go a little thing that clings in my heart and mind.

But...I'm not totally sure about it.

But...I need to.

Well...just a little bit.

So, I happen to have a different way of thinking with some of the colleagues. This should be good since it might add variety to the result of the job we're doing. But...maybe, I'm just being a pain in the ass for caring too much about a project and being idealistic.

This, sometimes, drives me nuts.

But, maybe, it's simply because my life is not on the happiest stage. And that makes me see things from the worse sides.

And, before, if other things than job are not doing well, I simply use work as my runaway. But now...everything seems to be jeopardizing.

Oh...am I such a complainer or what?!!!

*Do you realize that I've been using dozens of BUTS here?*

Thursday 13 - Thirteen Wishes This Week...

Things are not the way they're supposed to be lately. So, today, my TT is about the wishes I have in mind this week:

I wish...

  1. I had time to sleep for more than 10 hours. Yeap, I need the long hour sleep. I've been lack of sleep since my maid decided not to show up again after going back to her hometown without telling a word.
  2. the replacing maid was a better one the the old betraying one. But, she's not! I have to teach her everything and she seems slow. Though, it's better with her than without.
  3. I had a house like the one in the picture above.
  4. I had a car that I can use to go anywhere I like. Yes, I don't have a car. Can't afford one yet. My hubby has a motorbike but I don't think I have the nerve to drive it.
  5. my GrandMa was here. Back when she was alive, seeing her smile could make me feel happy and in peace. (I'm about to cry now)
  6. I had a library in the house I mentioned earlier in #3. Yes, a big big big library with billions of books. But it's going to be a private library where I can work with my books and write posts for my blogs (yes, I have lots of blogs).
  7. I knew how to sew clothes. I like designing clothes and sometimes if I make one in a tailor, the result is not what I expect it would be.
  8. I had lots of money to self-publish my books. I don't need to wait for months for a "NO" answer from any publishers at all. The waiting really drove me nuts.
  9. I knew how to handle my daughter Hana, who is in a trouble-two stage of life. She's a different baby now. She has wills and is a bit stubborn. Hope it won't last long or she might drive me crazy just like the publishers do.
  10. I could lose at least 5-8 kgs (11-18 lbs). I tried to lose weight by not having dinner and replace it with WRP milk (which tastes good). But, I got dizzy and ended up eating dinner again.
  11. I could buy dozens of books and had time to read all--under a big tree, in a quite park, with a glass of water with lemon and sugar plus chocolate cookies on the side table.
  12. my mobile phone which is being repaired was ready to use so I can contact my friends for a hang-out this weekend.
  13. I knew what to wish in this #13 :D
